Bed & Breakfast stands for all kind of accommodation where host families offer a friendly welcome, a comfortable bed and a breakfast – a good opportunity to get to know the various local specialties. Hospitality and communication – a positive way of starting the day!
Homestay is one of the most popular kind of Bed & Breakfast. You live in a private home or in a private apartment – always at someone’s home. This allows you to have a look into the daily life of a Swiss home. The host family will take care of you personally and make you feel comfortable. Often you share the bathroom with the hosts. Our host families do their best to let you feel at home – their motto is: “They come as foreigners and leave as friends”.
There are also offers, which are independent from the host family. Mostly in-law units in single family houses or small apartment houses, including a private kitchen, bathroom and sometimes even a living room. In some cases breakfast is taken with the hosts, sometimes it is served directly in the apartment or brought to the front door. You might also find everything you need ready in the kitchen.
The "table d'hôtes" (guest table) is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a meal together with the family or a meal specially prepared for you. The "table d'hôtes" is not an official restaurant – therefore we recommend you to ask the host in due time before your arrival if you wish to make use of this service. If the host families do not offer a "table d'hôtes", they will be pleased to assist you in finding regional or traditional cooking to taste nearby.
Prices are per person and per night, VAT and taxes included, according to the number of persons in one room and always including breakfast. For the "table d'hôtes" there is an "all-inclusive"-price (main dish, dessert, coffee, other drinks). You will be informed of this price when booking or upon arrival.
The reservation. Each offer includes all information from the host how to make a reservation. We advise you to book in advance – especially during high season or for longer stays. A booking confirmation and/or an advance payment are required quite frequently. If you take your pet with you please check in advance if animals are allowed.
Tips and tricks. Please think of informing your host if your arrival will be delayed. Remember that you stay in a private home which cannot offer the same service as a hotel. Do not disturb their family life and please follow the house rules.
In case you need to cancel your reservation less than 30 days prior to your arrival, the owner has the right to request a loss compensation. He will fix the amount according to the planned duration of your stay, the number of persons booked and the date of cancellation.
Where ever you stay in Switzerland – in large towns or small villages – you will always find somebody welcoming you with open arms, offering you advice or exciting proposals for an unforgettable stay.
