NATIONAL MOTORWAY TAX     Price: CHF 40.- (+/- EUR 33.-) 1 2 3 4 5     Description In Switzerland, the use of first and second-class motorways with motor vehicles and trailer is subject to tax. The tax is paid by the purchase of the motorway sticker. The sticker must be affixed directly on the prescribed place. Unaffixed stickers are invalid. Tax period and validity The motorway tax sticker is valid from 1 December of the year prior to that printed on the sticker through to 31 January of the year following that printed on the sticker. Contravention and enforcement Anyone driving on a motorway without a valid motorway tax sticker or with a misused sticker (e.g. not affixed correctly, affixed in the wrong place) is subject to a fine of CHF 200.
